Halifax Seaport Beerfest!

Launched in 2007, the Halifax Seaport Beerfest has become the largest annual beer gathering on the East Coast and one of Canada’s top beer events. On August 10th and 11th, nearly 5000 attendees will gather to sample 200 unique beers and ciders, enjoying the relaxed Maritime hospitality and cool summer vibe. Taste of Nova Scotia will also be in attendance providing excellent beer-friendly food! located in the beautiful outdoor surroundings of Halifax’s historic Seaport District this BeerFest event promises to be a really great event! Prologue – Seeds of Venture

A lot of my friends ask me if I had ever seen myself as a farmer.  Of course I had. It was about the time in my life where I had also seen myself as a cowboy, am astronaut and a pirate.  In other words it was something I have always recognized the value of but was never anything I seriously saw me doing. Truth be told I did do short stints on my uncle’s family farm in Newfoundland, but nothing that was really farming as I was very young; that is too young to make any meaningful contribution or retain any of the skills developed at that time. The Introduction

I hope these writings to be more than the machinations of building and operating a farm business, but rather a diary of the sowing of an idea for the purpose of the growth of a business for the evolution of an industry to benefit our friends and community. While this (ad)venture it is not overtly a social enterprise (the trend has to label everything that aims, in part, to benefit a community as a “social enterprise”) I feel that every business should 1) benefit the greater community; and 2) make enough money to follow-through on its plans provided they are a)sustainable in nature; and b) don’t violate the first rule of what I think businesses are supposed to do.
